The Ludlow Hotel - Lower East Side

The Lower East Side has to be one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York City. There you will find everything young, fun, hip and cool. If you are planning a trip or staycation in NYC and you have the Lower East Side in mind, the Ludlow Hotel should be somewhere at the top of your list of places to stay in the Lower East Side because it is located right at the center of it all, I'm talking about restaurants including the New York staple Katz Delicatessen located right across the street from the hotel, bars, rooftop lounges, shopping, art, even celebrity sighting. My friends and I planned a staycation at the Ludlow a couple of weeks ago. There were so many activities for us to get into that we could not choose where to go as we were only there from Saturday to Sunday.

How to Finesse a Good Photo Out of an Outfit Failure

This is for my fellow blogger babes, have you ever book your photographer, put together what looks like a bomb outfit and show up to the shoot with a vision but your vision would not come to life. You know it's not your photographer because your photographer is uber talented and it's not the location because the location is aesthetic goals. What could possibly be wrong? My friend it is your outfit. Over the years of shooting my outfits and my interest in photography, I learned that some outfits may look great in real life or even in your mirror but it looks like trash when photographed.

One Dress - Two Ways Feat. Anthropology Skirt

Hello lovers, welcome back to the blog. Today I am sharing one of my favorite things to do with my personal style, mixing and matching weird things together. I remember one of the photographers I work with once told me that I don't wear the same outfit twice and I told him  that I wear the same item of clothing more than twice, I just mix and match different pieces with different things creating a whole look and vibe altogether.

Black in America

Hey loves welcome back to the blog. Today we are covering a touchy subject, "Black in America." My Teni Embellished Dashiki Set from Puksies Wardrobe along with recent events inspired this post. Growing up in Haiti where the majority of the population is black, I was not aware of what it meant to be "black" to the rest of the world until I moved to New York. Before we get deeper into the post, I want to make it clear that I do not believe in race as in "I am black, you are green, yellow or purple." I personally believe that race is another vehicle for division  and a source of distraction in society just like classism and religion. At the end of the day, we are all one race, the human race!

Free Things To Do in NYC

A very cliche person said the best things in life are free! Today, I am sharing 3 Free Things To Do in New York City. Some days I find a cute little outfit in my closet, I try  the look on in front of my mirror and I tell myself this is cute but I have nowhere to go. If you find yourself in front of your mirror looking at a cute outfit telling yourself you have nowhere to go with the outfit, you should put on the outfit and head out to do any of these activities because they are all free.

Where to Get Tacos in NYC featuring Tacombi #tacotuesday

Hey lovers, happy #tacotuesday and welcome back to the blog!
On this Taco Tuesday, I am sharing some of my favorite places to get tacos in New Yawk Citaaaaayy! New York is known as a huge melting pot for obvious reasons, but that also means, as New Yorkers we have the option to taste the world right at home. I have never been to Mexico so I cannot vouch for what an authentic Mexican taco tastes like. Now that we've settled the fact that I may not be a taco connoisseur, let's talk about what I do know.

Ankara Crop Top and My African Heritage

Hello lovers, welcome back to the blog!

Some days I feel like I do not show enough of a connection with my African Heritage and Haitian Culture through my personal style. Let's face it, I can not carry a Haitian Flag everywhere I go unless my name is Wyclef or Jason Derulo. Moreover, I have never attended an African themed function in my life in which case I would feel the need to purchase traditional African garments.

However, I remember when I was younger, while living in Haiti, the hottest girl (according to me) in my Province of Petit-Goave used to wear some cute Ankara printed two piece outfits . I'm talking about cute crop tops with matching midi skirts, maxi skirts, shorts or trousers. She was very tall, curvy and very gorgeous. Her name was Magalie. At that time she was the only girl in town wearing those outfits and I used to think that she looked soooo good in them.

In honor of Magalie, I present to you the Yellow Abster Crop Top from Puksies Wardrobe.

Bow Slides and Rooftop Bars

Hola amigos, welcome back! One of my favorite things to do during the Summer in NYC is to visit rooftop bars and restaurants for cocktails and great eats. From 230 fifth to David Burke's Kitchen at the James Hotel, it's pretty safe to say that I have been to quite a few rooftops here in NYC and I still have a list of more rooftop bars and restaurants I have yet to visit. On the top of my list is Bar SixtyFive at Rainbow Room. It is located at the Top of the Rock building in Rockefeller Center. I visited top of the Rock  a couple of years ago with my sister who came to visit from Florida and the views were breathtaking! I can already imagine the views with a glass of frose, I might even be bold enough to try their most popular cocktail.

Grey Look Feat. Over The Knee Boots

Hey loves, Happy Weekend!!! What are you all doing for the weekend? I'm planning on staying in and relaxing. The weather is not that great so I don't really have any plans. I might stop by home goods later because I am addicted to Home Goods. And they recently opened a new one really close to me. Talk about bad news for my pocket, lol.
