The Ludlow Hotel - Lower East Side

The Lower East Side has to be one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York City. There you will find everything young, fun, hip and cool. If you are planning a trip or staycation in NYC and you have the Lower East Side in mind, the Ludlow Hotel should be somewhere at the top of your list of places to stay in the Lower East Side because it is located right at the center of it all, I'm talking about restaurants including the New York staple Katz Delicatessen located right across the street from the hotel, bars, rooftop lounges, shopping, art, even celebrity sighting. My friends and I planned a staycation at the Ludlow a couple of weeks ago. There were so many activities for us to get into that we could not choose where to go as we were only there from Saturday to Sunday.

This luxury hotel is most famous for its iconic bathroom designs and decor specifically those instagram-able gold hardware on marble and white tiles. Some rooms like the room we stayed in come with a spectacular view of the City facing the tub. Prices for a night at the Ludlow ranges from $295 for a Studio to $555 for a loft. I often see discounted prices for the hotel but if you want to take advantage of the discounts, you have to book your room in advance. Note that all of the rooms do not come with a bathroom with the view or the tub. (WATCH A VIDEO OF THE TUB). Some rooms only come with a shower while others come with the tub without the view. The lighting in all of their bathrooms is perfect for selfies. If you are a bathroom selfie queen or king, you will love the bathrooms there. (WATCH A VIDEO OF THE BATHROOM). Every bathroom come with fancy Maison Margiela bath robes.

The hotel room design is very simple with a touch of dark glam (if that's a thing). We initially booked a king loft for our stay because it was three of us. The loft came with a living area when you first walk in the door equipped with a day bed/sofa which turns into a bed. As you walk in to loft there was a hallway and the bathroom located somewhere in the hall way between the living area and the bedroom. That bathroom came with the tub however it did not have a view. The Bedroom/sleeping area of the loft had a king size bed with a decent view of the street where you can see Katz across the street but it was not exactly what we were looking for. We wanted the bathroom with a view. We inquired about the bathroom with a view and the only thing they had available at the time was a Queen Studio. As the suckers for views that we are, we decided to keep the Queen Studio. I mean, can you blame us?

Our Queen Studio was in the 19th Floor, I believe it was room 1903. It came with our dream bathroom with the view along with a terrace with a view.

We did not get to explore much of the hotel as our schedule was tight but here are some of the things that are available right at the hotel: a rooftop, a Lounge and Garden Bar, the Dirty French Restaurant.
There is so much more within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel put together a list of iconic neighbors from restaurants to art and shopping. You may check there list here. Below is a list of my favorite places in the neighborhood:

Pizza Beach (Restaurant)
Black Tap (Restaurant known for Giant Instagram Shakes)
Doughnut Plant (Donut Shop)
Essex Street Market
Beauty & Essex Restaurant and Lounge
Mr. Purple (Lounge that serves food)
Hair of the Dog (Bar)
Libation (Club/Lounge)

We ended up going to Pizza Beach on Saturday Night for dinner and drinks and we went to Beauty & Essex on Sunday for brunch. I've been to Pizza Beach several times, it gets pretty live at night and people start dancing

Outside of the hotel is very beautiful, it's definitely instagram backdrop goals. I actually shot an outfit there in the Summer, pictured above.

Thank you so much for stopping by. You can watch all of the fun in the videos below.
